What Mining Industry can learn from Indian Mansoon and Ford
Indian monsoon rainy season is famous for its deafening drumming of non-stop rain, flooded streets and savory food snacks that come out in this season.
Rain and windscreen wiper are closely linked. We have seen our windscreen wipers dancing along with the speed of rain at slow, medium to insanely fast speed. These windscreen wipers are one essentially part of the motor car and an impressive design that keeps us safe on the road in heavy rain. Ford Smart Mobility campaign has just added one more innovative task to this simplest tool we all have already seen in our cars, bus, truck etc. Ford has implemented a small sensor which continuously updates a data bank designed to ease wet weather travel in the busy Indian cities
Ford’s global Smart Mobility Campaign aims to engage innovation and technology in a crowd sourced learning environment that can deliver solutions which will take Ford to next level of connectivity and mobility.
This smart wiper concept is just an example of one of the few innovative ideas that Ford will be rolling out in coming next years. Each of these solutions is inspired by crowd sourced learning and innovation and involve people outside the industry.
This is also a good example to show how our Mining Industry can leverage similar solutions that not only benefit our industry but can also help to grow innovation ecosystem in the country. It’s time Mining Industry should get involved in building such open source learning environment that can benefit both mining and society at large.
